AMERICAN CONTEMPORARY PAINTER
"I want to intuitively translate an emotional response from a moment in time. To create what you cannot see and what is difficult to explain in words."
Marissa Vogl is an American contemporary painter celebrated for her bold, expressive works rooted in impressionist traditions and abstract exploration. Vogl is best known for her large-scale abstractions. Born and raised in Montana, she now resides and paints in Charleston, SC. Vogl’s work is a response to her observations of life’s beauty, most often relating to florals and landscapes.
Her intentional mark-making is an emotional and energetic exploration of vivid color creating a spontaneous harmony.
Vogl often begins by painting from life or plein-air references. Her intent is to intuitively translate her reaction from observations, into an experience.
